Hitting The Red Sox Game

Yesterday, Sarah took the afternoon off from work so we could start preparing for our move to the new place.  We didn’t get a whole lot done, especially after we started talking about the idea of going to see the Red Sox play the Rays in St. Pete.  After hopping on Ticketmaster, and being able to buy two *killer* seats just hours before the game, we arranged for Sarah’s parents to watch Alex, and headed to the game.

We got to Tropicana Field about two hours before game time, because I wanted to try to catch a ball during batting practice.  Our seats were about 15 rows back, just to the third base side of home plate, but we headed out to the right field wall to try to get lucky.

It took about an hour and a half, but we finally got one thrown up to us in the stands.  Granted, I had to reach up and grab it before it was low enough for the little kids to reach, but I got it!  Sure, maybe I should have given it to the disappointed kiddies, but I figured giving it to Sarah kept my jerk status in check. ;)

After batting practice, we settled into our seats, and watched a *great* game.  Granted, the Sox lost in the 11th inning, but it was as close to a perfect baseball game as it gets when a “L” is added to the record.  We ended up spending over six hours at the park, considering batting practice and extra innings, but it was a great time.  It’s not often that Sarah and I get to go and do something without the baby, so it was a nice change of pace.  That is, until we got home at 12:30 AM, and she was still awake!

You and your wife should try to have dates on a regular basis even if baby is up when you return home late into the evening.. I’m sure it worked out fine. Being with your wife whenever possible, is healthy for your marriage. Your daughter is beautiful…so is your wife…

Really enjoy your blog..wishing you success…and great Google ratings…
